Born in Palermo, MEP Chinnici graduated from law school at 21 years old and was the youngest magistrate in Italy to be appointed as Chief Prosecutor of a Public Prosecutor´s Office. During her long carrier she has carried out the functions of Chief Public Prosecutor at Juvenile Court of Palermo, member of the Commission for international adoptions and member of the Central Organism for the protection of unaccompanied minors established by the Italian Minister of Interior. She was the Head of the Department for the Juvenile Justice of Italian Minister of Justice. In 2009 she became member of the Government of the Sicilian region, as a Councillor for Family, Social Policies and Local Autonomy. In May 2014 she was elected as member of the European Parliament and has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Children’s Rights Intergroup.
MEP Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, EPP Sweden
MEP Corazza Bildt’s main areas of work are migration, digital single market and food. She is highly involved in issues of peace, freedom and democracy in Europe. In particular, she works to combat trafficking of human beings and to eradicate violence against women and children.
To promote and protect children’s rights has always been a key priority in her work. Therefore she created and is the Co-Chair of the first Intergroup on Children’s Rights in the European Parliament. She is first Vice-Chair of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO), Deputy-Coordinator of the Women Rights Committee (FEMM) and the EU-Ukraine Delegation. She is also a substitute of the Civil liberties, Home Affairs and Migration Committee (LIBE) and the EU Turkey Joint Parliamentary Commission.
